Here’s a really nice vintage Japanese Yamaha SAS-1500 hollowbody in all-original condition. It’s slightly smaller than a full-size hollowbody, sitting more in the Gibson ES-336 / 339 territory, so it feels super comfortable and easy to handle.
 
The body is nicely put together with an arched quilted mahogany and birch top, plus a mahogany and spruce centre block, which helps with sustain and keeps feedback under control. It’s loaded with a pair of Yamaha SAH-SA 11g Alnico V USA humbuckers that sound great — really balanced and clear, with plenty of versatility thanks to the 2 volume, 2 tone setup and coil tap.
 
You’ve got gold hardware all round, along with a mahogany neck and ebony fretboard that feels smooth and plays really well. It dates somewhere between the late ’90s and early 2000s, from that great period of Japanese production.
 
Condition-wise it’s very good, with just light signs of use — no major dings or rough wear. There are some dust and fibres on the guitar and any light spots you can see are just from overhead lights. The grain on the body looks fantastic in person, and at 3.4kg it’s a nice, comfortable weight.
Comes with its original Yamaha-branded fitted hard case too.
