Vintage 2000 Gibson ES 335 Dot Tobacco Sunburst Yamano Order w/ Orig. HSC
Here is a beautiful 26-year old holy grail era Yamano Japan Sunburst ES 335 Dot. It’s fully original just as it came out of Gibson’s Nashville factory back in 2000 and is in lovely condition for such an old Gibson. Although built in the USA like all Gibson guitars, this one was especially selected for export to Japan by Yamano, who it is said secured many of the greatest tops of the 90’s & 2000’s. It’s a genuine Yamano that was brought back on a recent trip to Japan. It’s a beautifully figured old Tobacco Sunburst flametop. Amazing looking flame all over the top, sides and back. It’s ageing beautifully and well along the road to being a real vintage looker. Factory fitted grovers have taken on a dull grey patina and are working fine, stays in tune for days. The neck and body binding has turned a really nice off white, almost yellow. Neck is dead straight truss rod checked and functioning fine, plenty of life left in the frets, never re-fretted so fret ends still have their binding. No big nasty dings and nothing bad has ever happened to it. No bucklerash on the back. Just general playwear, scuffing around the edges and a little bumps/indents here & there, all very minor. The original humbuckers sound fantastic. There have been no modifications, breaks or repairs. Plays and sounds great, super resonant unplugged with a great action. Has a comfortable 1960 profile neck. Nicely balanced & weighs in at 3.92kg on our postal scales. It is complete with its original tan, pink-lined Gibson HSC. It has it’s Gibson factory checklist and original Japanese Yamano booklet. Case is functioning fine, latches working fine & combi lock working fine. I’ll let the pics tell the rest of the story.
