Up for grabs is a very rare and sought after guitar. It is a vintage 1987 age-darkened blonde 1952 reissue Ash/Maple Fender Japan Telecaster. It’s a very early one, an MIJ A-Serial made for Fender at the renowned FujiGen Gakki in Japan on 8th May 1987 (date pencilled under clearcoat on neck heel). It has a great looking vintage butterscotch blonde natural ash body, with maple neck and 7.25 radius maple fingerboard. It has correct single ply blackguard, Fujgen Fender stamped neckplate and vintage slotted screws. It's a good weight 4.3kg, these old Sen Ash MIJ Teles usually go a lot heavier. The old ash is very resonant and feels great to play, plenty of Tele twang and some real bite in this one. Neck dead straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life left in the frets. Structurally and electrically sound. No issues at all. No breaks, repairs or routing. It’s a real old warrior with plenty of character. Some nice natural wear showing commensurate with age, the ash body is darkening beautifully. Newly strung with Elixir 9's. Definitely one of the cooler vintage MIJ ‘52s we’ve had in recently. Complete with period correct Fender branded softcase.
