Greco Very Rare Vintage EGF-1200 Super Real w/ Dry-82s, Brazilian Board

£3,495.00Price

Offered for sale is a highly collectible 1982 EGF-1200 from Greco’s legendary Super Real Series, produced during the golden era of Japanese vintage reproduction craftsmanship at Fujigen. These early-’80s high-end Greco models are widely respected for their accuracy, build quality, and tonal character—often compared favorably with vintage instruments from Gibson.

The EGF-1200 sat near the top of the Super Real lineup and features premium tonewoods and period-correct construction details aimed at recreating the sound and feel of a late-1950s burst.

This example is 100% original and presents beautifully, with a striking flame maple top and excellent overall preservation.

Key Features

  • Brazilian rosewood fingerboard
  • Long neck tenon construction
  • Original Dry 1982 PAF-style pickups (successors to the famed Dry Z pickups)
  • Highly figured flame maple top
  • One-piece mahogany back
  • Vintage-style late-’59 neck carve
  • Weight: 4.5 kg

The Dry 1982 pickups deliver classic PAF-style clarity with strong midrange presence, dynamic response, and excellent articulation.

Condition

Very good vintage condition.

  • Light surface marks consistent with age and careful use
  • Small cosmetic nick on the top
  • No structural issues
  • No electronic issues
  • No breaks, repairs, or modifications

The guitar remains structurally excellent and fully original—an increasingly rare find for this model.

Super Real–era Greco instruments continue to gain recognition among collectors for their exceptional build quality and historical significance within the vintage MIJ (Made in Japan) market. Fully original EGF-1200 examples—especially with Brazilian rosewood and strong flame tops—are becoming increasingly difficult to source.

A standout piece from one of the most respected periods of Japanese guitar production.
