This instrument is a superb representation of Gibson’s Custom Shop at its finest, capturing the essence of a true ‘58 plaintop. The top displays authentic, understated figuring with classic late-’50s grain character, perfectly complemented by the rich, warm burst that continues to deepen with age.
 
Factory Bigsby-equipped R8s are seldom encountered, and this example stands out as a particularly well-balanced and tonally impressive piece. The neck features a full, late-’50s profile, offering a substantial yet comfortable feel in the hand, paired with a notably dark and dense rosewood fingerboard of excellent quality.
 
Tonally, the guitar is everything one would expect from a top-tier Historic Reissue. The original Burstbucker pickups deliver articulate, dynamic response with warmth, clarity, and excellent harmonic complexity. Acoustically, it resonates beautifully, translating effortlessly into a rich amplified voice.
Weighing 4.2kg, it sits comfortably within the ideal range for a Bigsby-equipped Les Paul, maintaining both balance and sustain.
