Gibson Les Paul Classic Plus Vintage 1992 Japan Yamano Export 1960 2nd Year Alas

Here we have a quite beautiful vintage non-chambered Gibson Les Paul Classic Plus Yamano selected from 1992. I think this has to be my absolute favourite pre-1993 Les Paul Classic of all the ones we have ever had in at GSG. It is the perfect 1960 reissue in my eyes. It is quite literally the cleanest and the best looking 1992 we have ever had. It is a Honeyburst Classic Plus with some exceptional maple grain all over the carved maple cap. It's a very unique looking Les Paul and is a wonderful example of the "good wood" early 90's Gibson guitars as well as the pre-Custom Shop builds and Yamano hand selected guitars. I'm loathe to call this just a 'Classic Plus' because these really were something else altogether. There were some amazing guitars put out in the months just prior to the official christening of the Custom Shop in 1993. This is one of them. Historic 1960 specs that soon after were removed when dealers started complaining that the Classic line was outselling the Standard. This early Classic Plus features the proper "Les Paul Model" silkscreen on the headstock as well as thinner cutaway binding, the proper abr-1 bridge setup and push in tuner bushings. 2 out of 3 of these features disappeared in 1993 when the Custom Shop became official. These early classics have therefore become increasingly sought after Les Pauls and this is testament to that; it looks and plays fantastic. There are very little by way of blemishes anywhere on the guitar, it looks as if it have been almost perfectly preserved for 34 years! The original not Gibson 496R/500T sound superb. Both bluesy and sharp and cutting when needed. The guitar has had absolutely no breaks or repairs over the decades. Lots of life in the frets, neck dead straight and truss rod fine. No problems structurally or electrically. It weighs in at 4.4kg (It is non-chambered remember…) The binding and plastics have taken on an off-white/yellowed tone which looks good against this finish. No paint chips or buckle rash on the back etc. Complete with original 1990’s Tan Gibson HSC with pink lining and silk shroud. All latches fine and combi-lock are working with no problems. Also complete with original Gibson Japan hangtag, Gibson USA booklet and Japanese Yamano booklet plus some other bits. A superb looking 1960's reissue Gibson Les Paul from the great Classic years.
