Fender Japan Vintage 1988 FujiGen Very Rare 1962 RI Charcoal Burst Stratocaster

Here is a very scarce Fender FujiGen built Charcoal Burst '57 RI Stratocaster. This charcoal burst strat was part of a very limited 1988 run at Fender’s legendary FujiGen plant before the current relicing obsession kicked off. It is an MIJ E-Serial with a pencil date of 7.2.88 on the neck heel. No catalogue entry exists for this model and we have never come across one before now. It’s an awesome strat too. Feels great to play, a good Strat weight at 3.5kg, very resonant, with equal measures warmth & brightness. It has the playwear you'd expect for a 1980's Stratocaster with a few dings and scratches. Neck is dead straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life left in the frets. Structurally and electrically sound. No issues at all. Complete with original period correct Japanese leatherette gigbag. These were made in limited numbers and will never be made again.
