Just in: This old Japanese warrior Fender 1962 Reissue Precision Bass in aged Oly White (it is more of a cream colour now). It’s a mid 2000's (CIJ S-Serial) from the 2005-2006 period. It’s a great looking old bass, but it is very worn and does have a thin crack in the headstock up to the first tuner peg hols (pics). The crack is firm and holds fine but does show movement under extreme pressure. Given how cool this old Fender Japan bass is, it is well worth taking to a luthier to get the crack sealed. It has a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, vintage correct 3-ply pickguard and great sounding pups. Neck straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life in the frets. Weight is 3.8kg. Tons of vintage wear with paint checking lines all over the body, bumps, dimples and scuffing and paint chips on the bottom. Not for the faint-hearted. No electrical issues, sounds superb. A beautifully crafted old Japanese Fender P-bass. No case but will come shipped well padded is a sturdy purpose designed hard bass shipping box. If you are looking for a killer looking vintage FujiGen ’62 RI P-bass in need of a little work, this is a good choice.
