Epiphone John Lennon Casino Ltd Edn (Number 7!) 1965 RI w/ silkscreen print

Up for grabs is the once in a lifetime chance to secure the number 7 serial John Lennon signature ’65 Casino. The first ten from the 1998-1999 run were issued with a metal backed silkscreen portrait of Lennon. The first ten '65s were apparently sold along with the corresponding numbered stripped models. Most going to those connected to Gibson/Epiphone USA. Andy Babiuk worked on this project with Epiphone/Gibson and this limited series continues to increase in value today.
 
A really nice top on this one with some very striking maple grain all up and down the front and back. The specs of these amazing Casinos were based on the mid 60’s USA Kalamazoo models. It has a 5-ply (maple, birch, maple, birch, maple) laminated body following the classic lines of a Casino, with really nice yellow binding offsetting the natural satin nitrocellulose finish. There’s a slim taper mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard with fret end binding and parallelogram inlays. The headstock has the same serial as Lennon’s own Casino (328393). Weight is a very comfortable on this one at 2.9kg. The neck is dead straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life left in the frets. Structurally and electrically sound. It's a very clean example of this rare guitar. Any little specs you can see on the headstock and fretboard are just tiny bits of dust. It's used but has clearly been very well looked after, there are no big notable blemishes anywhere. Just some light playwear & some oxidation on the pickup covers. Obviously no breaks, repairs or mods etc. It's in fully complete condition and with such a low serial number this would make an excellent investment piece if that’s what you are interested in. Complete with original hardcase and case candy inc the above mentioned print and all other bits that came with this edition. Probably the lowest number you will ever see come up for sale.
