Vintage 1989 Gibson Les Paul Custom Alpine White w/ OHSC

£3,795.00Price

This sweet old 1989 Gibson Les Paul Alpine White Custom just came in last week. Built way back on in '89 at Gibson's Nashville plant. The alpine white finish is starting to yellow and all the gold hardware is nicely tarnished. It’s well down the road to being a great vintage looker. It has an ebony fingerboard and has never had a refret so it still has its nibs. In true custom fashion it’s not the lightest at 4.4kg. Truss rod has been checked and is fine, neck dead straight and plenty of life left in the frets. It is structurally and electrically sound. The original Bill Lawrence pickups sound superb. They are very underrated humbuckers. There is some age related nitro finish checking with lines in the neck/headstock region (pics), but is just in the paint.  It has never had any breaks or repairs. One of the plastic pick up rings has cracked as is par for the course. As mentioned above, the alpine white nitro finish has yellowed with age leading to a few lighter patches as you always get with old alpine whites. Has some darker staining patches as per pics. Comes with original tan pink-lined Gibson HSC. A bit tatty but working perfectly. A very nice ’89 Gibson Les Paul Custom.

At Gas Station Guitars we carefully hand-select all our guitars and refuse a lot more than we accept, if they don’t blow us away on all fronts, we just don’t put them in our shop; if it’s for sale by Gas Station Guitars, you know it’d gonna be pretty special.  NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks. We ship worldwide to the USA, E.U, Europe, Canada, Australia, Japan and of course the UK.
