Scarce late 90's Fender Japan 1968 RI Olympic White Stratocaster 1999 CIJ

£1,295.00Price

Here is a scarce Fender Japan model. It is a 1968 reissue Stratocaster in factory finished Olympic White (ST68-TX). These don’t come up often and were produced in much smaller numbers than the ST-57s & 62s etc. This one was built at the renowned Tokai Gakki in Japan back around 1999-2002 (CIJ P-serial number) it has a resonant alder body with a maple cap (7.25 radius), stripeless maple neck, the cool larger resonant ’68 headstock with the CBS era decals, 4 bolt neck plate, stamped steel saddles and 3 x killer sounding USA Texas Special single coil pickups. There’s a maple neck with nice vintage 7.25" radius fingerboard and a 3-ply white pickguard. It is still all factory spec with no mods or repairs. The maple used for the neck and fingerboard has naturally darkened giving it a real vintage vibe. Neck dead straight, truss rod fine and plenty of life left in the frets. Structurally and electrically sound. Good weight for one of these at 3.5kg. No structural or electrical issues. It is over a quarter of a decade old now so don't expect a soulless new guitar. This thing has some real world ageing going on, some light playwear, some yellowing of the plastics etc. Nothing big or horrendous. If you’re not interested in Mexican guitars are after something a bit special this is the one for you. A great chance to pick up a rare Fender Japan beauty.

At Gas Station Guitars we carefully hand-select all our guitars, if they don’t blow us away on all fronts, we just don’t put them in our shop; if it’s for sale by Gas Station Guitars, you know it’d gonna be pretty special.  All pictures are of actual guitars, all guitars are in hand and we do not use stock photos. NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks. We ship worldwide to the USA, E.U, Europe, Canada, Australia, Japan and of course the UK.
