Rare Vintage 1987 FujiGen-Built Fender Japan 1962 Telecaster Custom Reissue MIJ
Here is a scarce vintage 1987 Fender Japan FujiGen built 1962 Custom Reissue Telecaster. It’s an A-Serial (heel pencil dated under clearcoat to 20th June 1987) and was built for Fender at the renowned FujiGen plant. It has a fully bound alder body with beautiful light/dark dense grained slab rosewood fingerboard (7.25 radius) with a maple neck and headstock. The finish looks to be nitrocellulose on this one. It has the A-serial stamped bridge with 3 spiral saddles and vintage FujiGen-era ‘Fender’ stamped neck plate. It’s fitted with great sounding factory installed TL Vintage pickups. The neck is dead straight, truss rod fine and plenty of life left in the frets. Structurally and electrically sound. No issues at all. No breaks, repairs or routing. Weight 3.5kg. Well along the road to being a real vintage looker, with the binding naturally yellowing, which looks great against the three tone sunburst finish. Plenty of vintage playwear as you’d expect with scuffing, bumps & scratches etc. Complete with fitted Telecaster hardcase . All in all a very, very cool vintage 39-year old Fender Japan FujiGen ‘62 Custom RI Tele. Don’t miss it, these don’t come along too often.
