Gibson Vintage 1989 Les Paul Standard, Yamano Order w Chainsaw Case
Here is a very cool vintage 1989 Gibson Les Paul Standard Yamano Order in all original condition with no modifications. Very nice 2-piece Tobacco Sunburst maple top on this one, not a bright cherry clownburst like a lot from this period. Its aging beautifully with the tobacco burst top darkening and all the plastics and binding yellowing. It is turning into a real vintage looker. It was finished in the Nashville Plant on March 6th 1989. It will be one of the very first built just after Gibson moved back to two-piece tops (which I think was around March ‘89) so you are getting a genuine 1980s traditionally built non-chambered Standard with a 2-piece top! It is complete with its factory installed Bill Lawrence humbuckers (which sound great-very underrated pickups) & Gibson Deluxe tuners. Clean, nice feeling ’59 profile neck. Heaps of life in the frets (never had a refret so still has its fret end binding), the truss rod is fine and the neck is dead straight. No problems either structurally or electrically. Weight is 4.4kg. Not mint, obviously, but nothing bad has ever happened to it with absolutely no breaks or repairs etc. There is some finish checking and discolouration on the headstock and one volume knob has a slightly uneven turn. No pickguard with this one. It comes complete with a Gibson Generaton 3 Chainsaw case (not original to this guitar but quite valuable and collectable in their own right) which still has the Gibson badge attached! There are two latches missing but correct replacements can be purchased at a small cost. This was a Yamano order from Japan, where we found it. And it comes complete with it’s Yamano booklet. A rare chance to grab an amazing looking vintage 1980’s Standard. Don’t miss this one, it is a classically built vintage 1980’s Gibson Les Paul Standard.

We carefully hand-select all our guitars and refuse a lot more than we accept, if they don’t blow us away on all fronts, we just don’t put them in our shop; if it’s for sale by Gas Station Guitars, you know it’d gonna be pretty special. All pictures are of actual guitar, we do not use stock photos. NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks. We ship to the E.U, Europe, U.S, Canada, Australia, NZ and of course the UK.
