Gibson Vintage 1981 Les Paul Standard All Original Tobacco Sunburst w/ OHSC

Here is a very cool vintage 1981 Gibson Tobacco Burst Les Paul Standard. It has a great looking teardrop burst which has now mellowed to more of a Honeyburst finish. It has the traditionally built one piece mahogany body and maple top, it’s not a pancake. Three-piece maple neck with factory volute for extra strength. It has a rosewood fingerboard with very little wear on the original frets and still retains its fret-end binding (nibs). The nitrocellulose finish has dulled over the decades and there is some wear with the plastics with the white binding turning yellow and the metal hardware dulled. Neck is dead straight, truss rod checked and functioning fine, plenty of life left in the frets. Absolutely no mods, breaks or repairs. No routing, it wasn’t once a Deluxe! Neck somewhere between a ’59-‘60 and low smooth action. Weighs in at 4.6kg. There is some visible smooth feeling wear the top of the neck but absolutely no separation of the of the neck binding etc. It is all as tight as the day it came out of the factory. A very solid guitar. The binding has some checking in it as is usually the case with Gibsons this old. Plenty of well worn in bumps and scrapes to show for its age. It is well along the road to being a real vintage looker! Complete with tan Gibson case in good condition for the age with all latches working fine. A very cool vintage ’81 Gibson Les Paul Standard!
