Gibson Vintage 1979 Les Paul Standard Tobacco Burst with Hardcase Very Clean

Up for sale is this exceptionally clean vintage Gibson Les Paul Standard, built in 1979 at Gibson’s USA Nashville plant. Finished in a rich, dark Tobacco Sunburst, this is a particularly attractive example from the era—far removed from the brighter cherry bursts more commonly seen. The deeper, vintage-correct teardrop burst gives it a far more refined and classic appearance.
 
Condition is outstanding for its age, with only very light signs of playwear—easily one of the cleanest late-’70s examples we’ve handled. The natural ageing is spot-on, with the plastics and binding having developed a beautiful, even yellowing that contrasts perfectly against the darker finish. There are some smaller bumps on the back of the guitar. 
 
The three-piece maple neck with volute is dead straight, with a fully functioning truss rod and plenty of life remaining in the frets. The neck profile sits comfortably between a late ’59 and early ’60 carve, offering a smooth, fast playing feel with low, easy action.
 
Structurally, the guitar is excellent, with no breaks or repairs. Weight comes in at approximately 4.4kg, right in line with what you’d expect from a solid late-’70s Les Paul.
 
It comes complete with its original Gibson hardcase (handle broken).
