Gibson USA Les Paul Traditional Premium Plus Figured Iced Tea Japanese Export

£2,195.00Price

Here is a really nice looking figured Iced Tea Burst Gibson Les Paul Traditional Premium Plus from 2009. It has a superb figured maple top (one of the best we have seen on a Traditional) with some very defined tight flame all over. The nitrocellulose lacquer is so thin on this you can actually feel the ripples in the maple flame underneath. This one was selected for export to Japan, which is where we secured it and was built in 2009 at Gibson's Nashville, USA plant. There are absolutely no breaks or repairs. Being a Trad it has a thick 50’s neck profile and it’s non-chambered. Lots of life in the frets, the truss rod is fine and the neck is straight. Has its original uncovered zebra ’57 Classics which sound great. No problems structurally or electrically. Weight is really good for a solid bodied non chambered Traditional at almost dead on 4.2kg. The 'Traditional' truss rod cover has been replaced with a Gibson historic spec TRC. A carved solid Grade-AA figured maple top lends bite and articulation to the sound while looking great in the process, and a solid, mahogany back without weight relief contributes superb warmth and depth. A quarter-sawn, Grade-A mahogany neck is glued in and carved in a comfortably rounded late-’50s profile and topped with a bound Grade-A rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets and traditional trapezoid inlays. Traditional touches include cream body and fingerboard binding, pickguard (sight crack in pickguard edge), and pickup rings, along with gold Speed Knobs with dial pointers. It has a little playwear as you'd expect for the year but turning into a real aged looker. Complete with docs & original white-lined Gibson HSC. All latches working with no problems. A very special Gibson Les Paul Traditional.
