Fender Telecaster '52 Reissue Vintage FujiGen E-Serial 1989 Charcoal Burst

£1,395.00Price

Up for grabs here is a beautiful vintage 1980s Fender Japan Charcoal Burst Telecaster. This beautiful guitar was built very early in Fender Japan's history. It is an E serial built between 1984-1987. It is by far the best looking example of a CCB we have ever had in the shop, in fact the best looking example bar none I’ve ever seen of this model. The finish definition on this guitar is astounding. These old FujiGen CCB Teles come up now and again but are pretty rare on the ground. They were designed & built by Fender Japan in small numbers from mid 1980's to 1990 then again briefly in 1995, long before the current relic obsession kicked off. They’ve got a great worn and dirty look which I remember thinking looked awesome back in the early 90’s when I first saw one. They were domestic only, and never exported. Anyway this was built for Fender at FujiGen so you know you won’t find a better built Telecaster. It feels great to play, a good Tele weight, very resonant, with equal measures warmth & brightness, which is all probably due to the American basswood body they used on these models, which some say can could look a bit plain. Most definitely not the case here! This beautiful old Tele has got all the good stuff: chrome bridge & 6 saddles, (USA) TL Vintage pickups, black single-ply guard & F stamped neck plate. Neck is dead straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life left in the frets. The neck has a thin C profile. Structurally and electrically sound. No issues at all. It is exceptionally clean for a guitar built in 1980s! Nothing bad has ever happened to it, just a little playwear to give the relic feel a bit of authenticity. It's getting pretty tough to pick these up now, and they never look like this one. Complete with Telecaster hardcase (with key). These were made in limited numbers and will never be made again. I don’t think there’s a better looking CCB out there, go get it.
