Fender Japan Vintage 1985 FujiGen Built 1962 Telecaster Custom Reissue MIJ Candy

Fender Japan Vintage 1985 FujiGen Built 1962 Telecaster Custom Reissue MIJ Candy

£1,445.00Price

Here is a very cool vintage mid 1985 FujiGen built Fender 62' RI Telecaster (TL62B) in Candy Apple Red finish. This was Fender Japan’s top of the line Tele. It features all the good stuff. Double bound, alder body, very dark and dense looking slab rosewood 7.25 radius fretboard and heaps of vintage mojo. It’s an MIJ A-Serial built in 1985 (pencil dated under clearcoat on neck heel) and is from way back when Fender stamped the neckplates on their ’62 Telecasters. The double body binding has aged beautifully on this Tele, having naturally faded to a deep dark vintage yellow over the decades, it looks superb against the red body (just check the pics, you wont see a cooler looking Fender Tele). It plays great too, nice action with plenty of bite & twang if you want it courtesy of the 3 saddles. The lightweight old wood alder body feels very resonant and it’s a great weight at 3.5kg. It’s all factory correct with the 3-ply white pickguard (some scuffing), 3 spiral saddles, Fender A-Serial stamped bridge plate and TL vintage pups. No issues either electrically or structurally. Neck fine, frets fine, truss rod fine. Being from the mid 80's it is obviously not new & mint, with some lovely naturally earned playwear, but nothing big or ugly. The FujiGen poly looks and feels very thin, with you often find on these mid 1980’s Custom Teles, it probably adds to the resonance of this guitar & also looks pretty cool as it has dulled an lost a lot of the shine. The grain on the maple and rosewood fingerboard looks very nice indeed.  Complete with tween Telecaster hardcase. All pictures are of actual guitar.
