Fender Vintage 1991 Sunburst Telecaster '62 RI Custom w Leatherette Case & Mods

Here is something a very special. It's a cool old 1991 FujiGen built Fender Three Tone Sunburst 1962 RI custom Telecaster (TL62B). It has been elegantly modded with a vintage engraved hipshot B-bender and humbucker pickup in the neck which has been professional routed. Aside from how amazing this Telecaster looks, it is a dream to play. These TL62Bs have long been Fender Japan’s top of the line Tele. This stunner has all the good stuff you'd expect from an early FujiGen TL62B; double bound alder body, very dark rosewood slab fingerboard and heaps of vintage mojo. Its date penciled to 1991 under the clearcoat on the neck heel and is from back when Fender Japan stamped the neckplates on their ’62 Telecasters. The double body binding has aged beautifully on this Tele, having naturally darkened to a deep dark vintage yellow over the decades, it looks superb against the Sunburst body (just check the pics, you wont see a cooler looking Fender Tele). It plays great, nice action with plenty of bite & twang if you want it courtesy of the 3 brass saddles. It has a nice light alder body at 3.7kg and feels very resonant, even with the hipshot fitted. It has the correct Fender stamped neck plate, Fender A-Serial stamped bridge plate and great sounding pickups. I'm not sure what the humbucker is but it sounds damn good. The routing for the humbucker is top quality pro work. No issues either electrically or structurally. It’s three decades old now, so don’t expect sterile & mint; there are plenty of stores that sell new Mexican guitars if that’s what you want. This is something else altogether. Overall though it is in very decent condition for a 35 year Tele but do please expect playwear. The metal hardware has nicely oxidised. This guitar has mojo in spades and is well along the road to being the perfect vintage Telecaster, it sounds/plays fantastic. Complete with vintage Japanese leatherette case and vintage Japanese leather Greco strap.
