Epiphone Vintage 1991 Casino Electric Guitar Natural Finish Pre-Elitist w/ Case

This is one of a brace of vintage Japanese Terada built Epiphone Casinos we recently acquired from a series collector. The other one is the 1996 Antique Sunburst you will see just before this one on our inventory (if it's not already sold). Both of these guitars aside from their rarity value have been kept in absolutely beautiful condition from new. They are two of the cleanest Japanese Terada built Casinos we have had in stock at Gas Station Guitars. Anyway aside from the condition this is a beautiful looking Casino, with a stunning rich mineral-streaked maple finish. As you probably know if reading this, Casino's are one of the essential rock & roll hollowbodies. Favoured by The Beatles, Keith Richards, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller etc. These Japanese Terada Casinos are the guitars that precede the modern Elitist line. Japanese Epiphone Casinos are consistently superb in our opinion, we have never had one we didn't love. The build quality is exceptional and to us, the Terada models feel like no other casinos. The modern Chinese guitars can't touch them. This one is a good light weight at 2.9kg with a very comfortable slender c profile maple neck with a 40mm nut width. As mentioned above, this condition for a 90's Japanese Terada Casino is almost unheard of, it's as clean as one of the many Chinese reissues. No notable dings or paint cracks etc. Just the kind of swirls in the finish you can only really see when angling the guitar to light, the odd light scratch on the back but again you have to angle it to see. We really can't fault it. It is all original. The electronics are all untouched, with nickel pickup covers on the Maxon built P-90s and the reflector cap knobs on the Volume and Tone controls are all original. The nickel ABR-1 bridge has the correct "Made in Japan" text on the underside, and the orange oval label visible through the F hole has the correct five digit serial for Terada factory production. This one still has its original white E branded 3-ply pickguard fitted. The guitar is a stunner with some light uniform surface patina on the pickup covers, bridge, and trapeze tailpiece, but only very light. There have obviously been absolutely no headstock breaks/cracks or repairs anywhere. It’s all original with no modifications. Neck is dead straight truss rod checked and functioning fine, plenty of life left in the frets. It’s also a very smooth player and those original dog ear P90s sound immense as usual. Comes with HSC which is functioning fine with all latches working. I’ll let the pics tell the rest of the story, this is a beautiful old Japanese Casino in unusually clean condition, and like all these old Japanese Terada models; a superb investment.
