Yamaha SGV 800 Flying Samurai - Pearl Snow White Japan w/ Softcase

You are looking at a scarce Yamaha SGV-800 in Pearl Snow White finish. This is a brilliant little offset. They were built in Taiwan for the Japanese market only. Produced from 2000-2004, the SVG-800 is a modern version of the original Flying Samurai, a unique amalgamation of surf-inspired design, featuring elements influenced by both Mosrite and Fender. It is in fully original condition with its stock pair of snappy oversized screw-pole alnico magnet single coil pickups. This SGV-800 weighs in at 3.8kg. All of the electronics work as intended, with individual volume knobs for each pickup and a Master Tone control topped with original knobs. The vibrato unit has a unique ball bearing design, essentially combining a Mosrite pivot and string anchoring with the spring alignment of a Stratocaster. This vibrato is very effective and works in concert with the bridge's roller saddles, offering a particularly smooth and responsive vibrato action for expressive warbles and dives. The gloss Pearl Snow White finish has lightly yellowed, there is some discolouration to the edge of the pickguard and there is some overall wear on the body with little bumps and scuffs but no paint chips. This is a really cool and rare little guitar! It is complete with its original fitted Yamaha softcase and tremolo arm.
