Vintage 1990 'Order Made' Fender FujiGen Stratocaster 1962 RI Sherwood Green
Here's chance to get you hands on a rare ‘Order Made’ Fender FujiGen built 1962 Reissue Stratocaster in Metallic Sherwood Green finish. It is an MIJ H-Serial with a pencil date of 5thApril 1990 on the neck heel. It’s based on an ST62-500 but no catalogue entry exists for this particular model and we have never come across one before now. It’s an awesome strat too. Feels great to play, a good Strat weight, very resonant, with equal measures warmth & brightness. It has an alder body with a maple neck and slab Indian rosewood fingerboard with a 7.25 radius. A good chunky neck on this one, the nut width is 42mm, 12th fret width measures 51mm and the depth at the 12th fret is 25mm. It’s been played through the decades and has some bumps and scrapes. Pickups look to have been upgraded and sound great. It has Fender stamped steel saddles, FujiGen era Fender stamped neckplate and original 3-ply cream pickguard. It’s had a refret, it's a good refret but the edges still feel a little rough (not sharp) and could probably do with an extra minor edge dress. The plastics have yellowed and the metal hardware is nicely tarnished giving it a good vintage feel and look. There is a paint chip at the bottom near the strap pin. Neck is dead straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life left in the frets. Structurally and electrically sound. No issues at all. Complete with period correct Fender Japan gigbag. A really cool one-off Fender FujiGen ’62 RI Strat. NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks. We ship to the U.S, Canada, Australia, Europe and of course the UK.
