Vintage 1978 Japanese Greco EG800 Les Paul Cherry Sunburst. Here’s a beautiful high-end Japanese Greco Cherry Sunburst Les Paul Standard. It is all original with a really nice vintage teardrop burst. She has a set-neck of course (not a cheaper bolt-on) with a 2-piece maple top (with a beautiful carve to it), solid mahogany body & 2-piece maple top with a beautiful carve to it, "sandwich" mahogany body construction, and a three-piece maple neck, finished in a rich gloss Cherry Sunburst. A perfect example of the quality craftsmanship and attention to detail you’d expect with Fujigen factory production, the reputation of these guitars has persisted for decades, easily surpassing the quality control and final product of many Gibsons of the era. This one has a really nice dark and dense rosewood fingerboard. It is one of the nicest looking and feeling fingerboards we’ve seen on a Greco for a while, not sure what it is, possibly Brazilian. It has fret-edge binding (nibs) of course. It’s fitted with great sounding original Maxon double cream humbuckers. Loud and articulate.  It’s not the heaviest one of these we’ve had in at 4.4kg. Complete with original Grover tuners. No electrical/structural issues at all. Neck is dead straight, truss rod working, plenty of life left in the frets. Wonderful tone to this thing courtesy of the old growth wood & vintage Maxon pups. The metal hardware has a nice dull patina all over and the plastics & binding have naturally yellowed over the decades. It is in nice shape. A few blemishes of course but not bad at all for a 1970’s Greco. You get all the good ageing without any nasty bad stuff. No breaks or repairs etc. Comes with original Japanese leatherette gig bag. I’ll let the pics tell the rest of the story.

We carefully hand-select all our guitars and refuse a lot more than we accept, if they don’t blow us away on all fronts, we just don’t put them in our shop; if it’s for sale by Gas Station Guitars, you know it’d gonna be pretty special. All pictures are of actual guitar, we do not use stock photos. NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks. We ship to the E.U, Europe, U.S, Canada, Australia, NZ and of course the UK.
