Very Rare Vintage 1980 Greco Jazzmaster 'Super Real' Candy Apple Red
Here is a rare vintage 1980 Greco ‘Super Real’ Japanese Jazzmaster in even rarer Candy Apple Red finish with matching headstock. Only a handful of these amazing guitars would have been built back in ‘79/80 by Greco as Jazzmasters were still pretty much the most unloved guitars on the planet back then. That Greco bothered building any at all blows my mind! Anyway, it’s an incredibly well put together Jazzmaster. It has what looks like an ash body, maple neck and a good quality rosewood fingerboard with very little fret wear. We have only had one red Greco Jazzmaster for sale before. Nice and light too at 3.5kg. Unlike Fender Japan, Greco stayed true to the original Jazzmaster pickup design with shallow bobbins & wider coils. And I’ve gotta say they sound amazing, very warm with really nice cleans. Both circuits are connected. We replaced the toggle switch with a switchcraft as the original had disintegrated. We also replaced the jack socket. It has plenty of vintage ageing, on the body & neck as you’d expect. But absolutely no breaks/repairs/mods etc. The metal hardware has a dull grey patina all over it now, especially the tuners and stamped neckplate. The pick-up covers and 3-ply pickguard have turned a nice off-white cream colour. We specialise in offsets, especially MIJ ones and take it from us, there are very, very few Greco ‘Super Real’ Jazzmasters out there. Comes with non original gigbag. NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks. We ship to the E.U, Europe, U.S, Canada, Australia, NZ and of course the UK.
