Very Rare Fender Competition Mustang Bass '69 Vintage Reissue MB-SD/CO LPB
Here is a super rare Fender Japan bass! We have had Ocean Turquoise Competition Mustang basses before but never a Lake Placid Blue Comp w/ matching headstock! So first off it's Fender Japan it’s not Mexican. It is a CIJ O-Serial from the 1997-2000 period. It is the only one we have ever seen from Fender Japan. It has the excellent fit & finish you’d expect & all the good stuff including an alder body, nice dark streaked rosewood fingerboard, maple neck, white 3-ply perloid pickguard, Duncan designed MB Pups & Vintage White competition stripes. Neck straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life in the frets & no mods. Weight is great at 3.6kg. Some nice maple grain on the amber tinted neck and headstock. Structurally and electrically sound, no issues whatsoever. Good condition for the year. Has a few small bumps & scuffs as you’d expect given the age but overall very clean. Most notable blemish is a paint nick on the front. Complete with period correct Fender Japan softcase. A very rare bass.
