Rare Ikebe Order Fender 'Goldline' Mustang 1973 Competition RI Black/Gold

Rare Ikebe Order Fender 'Goldline' Mustang 1973 Competition RI Black/Gold

£1,785.00Price

Very rare Fender Japan Ikebe order 1973 Reissue Black/Gold Competition Mustang with matching headstock. We specialize in finding rare and order made Fender Japan offsets and this is one of only 2 'Goldline' Mustangs we have ever come across. Made in 2010-11 (MIJ U Serial). Outside of the rarity value this is a great Mustang! It’s a 1973 Competition Reissue with rosewood 7.25 radius fingerboard, maple neck and and 3-ply perloid pickguard. The glossy Piano Black with Goldflake competition stripes looks superb. Aside from the unique finish the maple neck and back of the headstock look amazing, tinted very dark with some really nice grain patterns showing all over the neck and headstock. Really resonant too and feels great to play. It’s all still factory spec with no breaks or repairs. Neck dead straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life left in the frets. Structurally and electrically sound. No issues at all. Weight it 3.5kg. Pretty clean overall with just a fews signs of playwear. The most notable being a scratch on the back. Has had a couple of nice upgrades for the stock Japanese pups. The neck has a crunchy high output Seymour Duncan SJBJ little humbucker and the bridge is a very decent sounding VanZandt. It is complete with trem arm & fitted Mustang hardcase with key. Also including original hang tag, original Fender Japan booklet and expired warranty card (good for providence and resale value as it has the guitar's individual serial number printed on). A great playing/looking Mustang and like all rare Fender Japan models & finishes, a solid investment.
