Orville (Gibson) Japanese Les Paul Standard 1997 Plaintop Cherry Sunburst
Cool old 1997 Japanese FujiGen-built Orville Les Paul Cherry Sunburst Les Paul Standard. It is a great looking old Les Paul with a deep and darkened Cherry sunburst finish on a carved two piece maple top. These were built exclusively for the Japanese Market and were never commercialy exported from Japan. It has a non-chambered mahogany body with mahogany set neck and nicely streaked rosewood fingerboard. Very nice sounding humbucker combination with an original Orville PAF style humbucker in the neck and upgraded DiMarzio in the bridge. Long tennon neck joint of course . Nice feeling 1959 profile neck. Slightly lighter than we usually see for a solid body 90’s Orville at 3.9kg. It's a quarter of a century old now so there is some plenty of playwear, mainly clear coat lacquer chips on the body and neck. There are also some sticker shadows not he back. Obviously there are no breaks/repairs etc. Everything is factory stock save for the upgraded Dimarzio. We love how this one plays. Really solid easy action, well balanced and with no electrical issues at all. And the humbucker combination slays. Neck is nice and straight, truss rod working, plenty of life left in the frets. A really good playing Japanese Orville Les Paul Standard. Complete with padded softcase.
At Gas Station Guitars we carefully hand-select all our guitars, if they don’t blow us away on all fronts, we just don’t put them in our shop; if it’s for sale by Gas Station Guitars, you know it’d gonna be pretty special. All pictures are of actual guitars, all guitars are in hand and we do not use stock photos. NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks.
