Gibson Vintage 1990 ES 335 Yamano Order Dot Cherry Electric Guitar Very Clean

Here is a beautiful vintage 1990 Gibson ES 335 Dot in the best finish, Cherry! It’s fully original just as it came out of Gibson’s USA Nashville factory back in 1990. Build date September 20th 1990. We all know how good the 90's Gibson's were, but what makes this one extra special is that it was selected for export to Japan by Yamano, who it is said secured many of the greatest Gibsons of the 90’s & 2000’s. Although built in the USA like all Gibson guitars, this one would have been hand-selected by the Japanese reps from many others to take back to Japan. It’s a genuine Japanese Yamano with all associated paperwork. It’s a good looking 335 with a deep rich cherry red nitrocellulose finish and nice subtle maple flame visible on the top back and sides. There is some lovely subtle vintage ageing all over the plastics with the white binding turning off white (which always looks classy against the cherry finish) and the metal hardware has light uniform ageing all over. The nitrocellulose is beautiful and also retains a deep shine. Due to the age you can feel the resonant old growth wood as soon as you pick this up and it’s a solid weighty 335 tipping the scales at 4.1kg. Very nicely balanced and exceptionally resonant. Neck is dead straight truss rod checked and functioning fine, plenty of life left in the frets, which still have the fret-end binding. The original Bill Lawrence humbuckers sound fantastic. It would originally have had Grovers which have been replaced by Klusons. There is some playwear as you’d expect over the decades, light scuffs, scratches and bumps. There are a couple little nicks around the bottom f-hole, from probable pot replacement and a tiny stress line in the finish between the bass side tuners. We have removed the tuners and taken close-up pics of the stress line. It is surface and does not run deep into the headstock. Plays and sounds great with a comfortable is somewhat shallow ’59ish profile neck. It is complete with all original Gibson and Japanese serial printed Yamano docs (the best Yamano providence you can get) and its original tan, pink-lined Gibson HSC still with shroud. Case is functioning fine, latches dulled over the years with combi lock working. A real old Yamano beauty.
