Gibson USA Vintage 1999 ES 335 Dot Yamano Japan Export Order Cherry Guitar
Here is a beautiful vintage 1999 Gibson ES 335 Dot in the best finish, Cherry! It’s fully original just as it came out of Gibson’s USA Nashville factory back in '99. Build date Oct 21st 1999. We all know how good the 90's Gibson's were, but what makes this one extra special is that it was selected for export to Japan by Yamano, who it is said secured many of the greatest Gibsons of the 90’s & 2000’s. Although built in the USA like all Gibson guitars, this one would have been hand-selected by the Japanese reps from many others to take back to Japan. It’s a genuine Japanese Yamano with associated Yamano booklet and was purchased and brought back from Japan by GSG. It’s a good looking 335 with a deep rich cherry red nitrocellulose finish and some nice subtle maple flame visible. The Indian rosewood fingerboard is very dark indeed. There is some lovely subtle vintage ageing all over the plastics with the white binding turning yellow (which always looks classy against the cherry finish) and the metal hardware has light uniform ageing all over. The nitrocellulose is beautiful and also retains a deep shine. Due to the age you can feel the resonant old growth wood as soon as you pick this up and it’s a solid feeling 335 tipping the scales at 4.1kg. Very nicely balanced and exceptionally resonant. Neck is dead straight truss rod checked and functioning fine, plenty of life left in the frets, which still have the fret-end binding. Just moderate playwear commensurate with the year, mainly just little bumps & scuffs. There is also a little buckle wear on the back. Plays and sounds great with a comfortable slightly thinner profile neck carve, think somewhere between ’60 than ’59. It is complete with original Japanese Yamano booklet and original 90’s tan, pink-lined Gibson HSC with silk shroud. Case is functioning fine, latches dulled over the years with combi lock working. A real old Yamano beauty.
