Gibson ES 335 TD Vintage Norlin Era 1979 Vintage Sunburst w/ Original HSC
For sale we have this beautiful example of a vintage 1970’s Norlin-era Sunburst Gibson ES 335 TD. It’s a beautiful old 335, with lovely gentle ageing and it's fully original just as it came out of Gibson’s Kalamazoo plant back in 1979 with original Gibson hardcase. The build date is June 26th 1979 in Kalamazoo. It is in full original condition, complete with its original trapeze tailpiece, Nashville bridge and Gibson 'Tar Back' humbuckers, which can be split with the extra coil tapping switch with makes this a very versatile hollow-body. Some say you roll the dice with Norlin-era Gibson’s but rest assured, this is one of the great ones. It looks and plays beautifully! It’s ageing gracefully with no big nasty dings, paint chips or bucklerash etc. The binding has aged to a really nice yellow with no cracking or shrinking etc. It’s a silky smooth player and the original PAFs sound immense. It’s all original with no modifications. Nice dark rosewood fingerboard with block inlays and binding. Neck is dead straight truss rod checked and functioning fine, it’s never been refretted so still has the fret-end binding. The comfortable three piece maple neck which give it a brighter slightly harder tone, it’s a good solid medium c profile with a strong period correct volute. It’s beautifully balanced & weighs in at 3.8kg. Never had any breaks, repairs or mods. It is complete with its original black red lined Gibson HSC. Case is functioning fine, latches a bit rusty but working fine. I’ll let the pics tell the rest of the story, this is a beautiful 335.
We carefully hand-select all our guitars and refuse a lot more than we accept, if they don’t blow us away on all fronts, we just don’t put them in our shop; if it’s for sale by Gas Station Guitars, you know it’d gonna be pretty special. All pictures are of actual guitar, we do not use stock photos. NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks. We ship to the E.U, Europe, U.S, Canada, Australia, NZ and of course the UK.
