Gibson 2001 Figured Wine Red Les Paul Standard Yamano Order w OHSC

£1,895.00Price

From Gibson’s great Standard years comes this cool old non-chambered 2001 Wine Red Gibson Les Paul Standard. This is a cool looking old Standard, with plenty of mojo going on. It has a beautiful translucent figured Wine Red top. It is a Japanese hand-selected Yamano export and was purchased and shipped to us from Japan. It is worth reading up on the Yamano Gibson years if you are not familiar with them, they include some exception guitars. This was built in Gibson’s Nashville plant and finished on April 20th, 2001, which is before Gibson introduced chambering on their standards (mid 2006) so yes, it’s non-chambered! It has a good solid ’59 profile neck, grovers and the 490R/498T humbuckers sound awesome on this one. There is still plenty of life in the frets (never had a refret so still has its fret end binding), the truss rod is fine and the neck is straight. No problems either structurally or electrically. Weight is 4.5kg. It has already started along the road of being a real vintage looker. The binding has aged to yellow which always looks good against the Wine Red top and the nitro-cellulose finish has taken on that dull glazed look you only get with age, especially on the neck. It's a wonderful old Standard from the great Gibson years, so don’t expect a mint sterile guitar. There is some buckle wear on the back (not through the paint), a little loss of clearcoat on the binding, and a few scrapes & bumps on the top with the odd shallow bump on the neck, but no big ugly paint chips etc. Nothing bad has ever happened to it with absolutely no breaks, mods or repairs etc. Comes with its original Japanese Yamano booklet and 90’s tan Gibson HSC with pink silk shroud, which is in good condition with no issues. A rare chance to get your hands on a top quality 90’s Yamano Les Paul Standard with a really nice figured Wine Red top, much better than your average Standard.

We carefully hand-select all our guitars and refuse a lot more than we accept, if they don’t blow us away on all fronts, we just don’t put them in our shop; if it’s for sale by Gas Station Guitars, you know it’d gonna be pretty special.  All pictures are of actual guitar, we do not use stock photos. NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks. We ship to the E.U, Europe, U.S, Canada, Australia, NZ and of course the UK.
