Gibson 1998 Les Paul Standard Yamano Order Dark Honeyburst Non-Chambered w/ OHSC

£2,295.00Price

Here is a really nice vintage non-chambered Gibson Les Paul Classic Honeyburst from 1998. The 90’s classics are phenomenal guitars and this is testament to that; it looks and plays fantastic with plenty of old mojo going on... It’s a superb looking dark aged honeyburst now with maple graining all over. It’s true what they say about the 90’s Standards, they are amazing guitars. On top of that this is a hand selected Yamano order which we recently bought over from Japan. Please read up on these if you don't know about them. Anyway it has absolutely no breaks or repairs. Being a Standard it has a chunky '59 neck and weighs in at 4.5kg (Non-chambered remember…) Lots of life left in the frets, the truss rod is fine and the neck is straight. Has its original 490r neck humbucker and the bridge has been exchanged with a Seymour Duncan. Both sound superb combined. No problems structurally or electrically. The honeyburst finish has darkened over the decades, as have white plastics, the binding has aged to a deep yellow and the metal hardware has taken on a tarnished grey patina. It’s got all the good ageing with none of the bad stuff and is well along the road to being a real vintage looker. It’s almost a quarter of a century old now so there is obviously some playwear.  Just the regular little bumps and scuffs etc you’d expect to see on a 90s Les Paul. The binding has the fine cracks you often see on older Les Pauls but is still all tight. There was a pickguard once fitted but it has now been removed. Why anyone would choose a sterile new Les Paul over a beautiful old worn in Honeyburst Standard like this I will never understand. Complete with original 1990’s Tan Gibson HSC with pink lining and silk shroud and Japanese Yamano booklet. All latches fine and combi-lock is working with no problems. A very special 60's Gibson Les Paul honeyburst Standard from the good wood years.

We carefully hand-select all our guitars and refuse a lot more than we accept, if they don’t blow us away on all fronts, we just don’t put them in our shop; if it’s for sale by Gas Station Guitars, you know it’d gonna be pretty special.  All pictures are of actual guitar, we do not use stock photos. NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks. We ship to the E.U, Europe, U.S, Canada, Australia, NZ and of course the UK.
