Fender Vintage 1991 FujiGen Stratocaster 1962 RI Olympic White Kurt Cobain
Here we have a very clean vintage Fender 1962 Reissue Stratocaster in Olympic White finish. It’s an early Fender Japan Strat finished on 19th March 1991 at the legendary FujiGen plant with 91-3-19 pencilled on neck heel under the clearcoat (its an MIJ J-Serial). This is exactly the same model as the first Oly white Strat Kurt played on tour with L7 back in 1990. He played this model with on & off with Nirvana from around 1990 -’92 (they became his disposable strats). What's more it’s the cleanest example of this 30+year old guitar we have had through the doors here at GSG. Save for a few pin-prick sized blemishes this one is as clean as it came out of the FujiGen factory 31 years ago! The neck is dead straight, truss rod fine, still plenty of life left in the frets. Very resonant with a dark and dense slab rosewood fingerboard (7.25 radius). Fender Stamped steel saddles and FujiGen-era Fender stamped neckplate. Structurally and electrically sound. Great sounding factory fitted USA Texas Special pickups. No issues at all. No breaks or repairs. No modifications. Good weight at 3.6kg. Complete with original period correct Fender Japan gigbag, original Fender booklet and expired Japanese warranty card (with corresponding serial number). A very cool timewarp ’62 RI MIJ Strat.
We carefully hand-select all our guitars and refuse a lot more than we accept, if they don’t blow us away on all fronts, we just don’t put them in our shop; if it’s for sale by Gas Station Guitars, you know it’d gonna be pretty special. All pictures are of actual guitar, we do not use stock photos. NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks. We ship to the E.U, Europe, U.S, Canada, Australia, NZ and of course the UK.
