Fender Telecaster '52 Reissue Vintage FujiGen J-Serial 1990 Charcoal Burst MIJ J

£1,395.00Price

Up for grabs here is a beautiful vintage FujiGen built Fender Japan Charcoal Burst Telecaster. It’s a J-Serial built for Fender at the renowned FujiGen factory on 20th December 1990 (20-12-90 date pencilled under the clearcoat on the neck heel). These old FujiGen CCB ’52 RI Teles come up now and again in Japan but are pretty rare on the ground, and we are lucky enough to have a few in the shop atm. They were designed & built by Fender Japan from 1989-90 then again briefly in 1995, long before the current relicing obsession kicked off. They’ve got a great worn and dirty look, which I remember thinking looked awesome back in the early 90’s when I first saw one. They were never sold for retail outside Japan. Anyway this beautiful old Tele has got all the good stuff: chrome bridge and 3 brass saddles, (USA) TL Vintage pickups, black single-ply guard & F stamped neck plate. It’s a good solid Tele weight at 3.2kg. Neck is dead straight, truss rod fine, frets showing some wear but plenty of life left in them. Structurally and electrically sound. No issues at all. The volume and tone knobs have been reversed in position. Has playwear as you’d expect with scratches, bucklerash and bumps etc, but is all looks pretty good on this one. Nothing bad has ever happened to it, the playwear just gives the reliced feel a bit of authenticity. The metal hardware is nicely tarnished, it’s well along the road to being a real authentic vintage looker. It's getting pretty tough to pick these ’52 CCBs up now, and they rarely look as good as this one. Complete with gig bag. These were made in limited numbers and will never be made again. There aren’t many better looking CCB’s out there, go get it. We ship to the U.S, Canada, Australia, Europe and of course the UK.
