One of the things I love so much about Fender Japan are the oddballs that come up from time to time. Here we offer you a Fender 1962 Custom Reissue Telecaster in Black Sparkle finish! This is a genuine Fender Japan built guitar, not a refinish. They come up very occasionally (we've had a total of 2 in before) and were order made, they never featured in any Fender Japan catalogues as far as we are aware.  It’s a CIJ S-Serial (2005-06). It has a lightweight alder body with cream 3-ply pickguard (still with protective film on), huge sounding USA Texas Special pickups, full body binding (which is yellowing nicely), Fender stamped Pat. Pend. Bridge with 3-section T8 spiral saddles and comfortable oval neck profile. Some really nice tonewoods were used for this one. It has a streaked dark and dense slab rosewood fretboard (7.25 radius). The maple neck and headstock show some nice grain patterns too. Sonically the Texas Special vintage pickups sound great. Plenty of bite and twang and a great Tele action. Really resonant too when unplugged and feels great to play. It is structurally and electrically sound. Neck dead straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life left in the frets. It's in superb condition with no notable blemishes. Complete original period correct Fender Japan padded gig bag. As usual with the model soft case one zip pully has broken but the zip still works fine.  A very rare Fender Japan Tele and great investment.

We carefully hand-select all our guitars and refuse a lot more than we accept, if they don’t blow us away on all fronts, we just don’t put them in our shop; if it’s for sale by Gas Station Guitars, you know it’s gonna be pretty special.  All pictures are of the actual guitars, we do not use stock photos. NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks. We ship to the E.U, Europe, U.S, Canada, Australia, NZ and of course the UK.
