Fender Rare Mid 80's Jaguar 1966 Reissue FujiGen MIJ E-Serial Sunburst
One of the oldest Fender Japan Jaguars you will ever see. It’s an MIJ E-Serial from 1984-87. We’ve been specialising in Japanese offsets for a very long time now and 1980’s Fender Jags are as rare as hen’s teeth. FujiGen didn’t start building them in any numbers until the early 90’s and even then not in great amounts, Jag production only really ramped up around the mid 90’s point and then on into the CIJ period. Any FujiGen Jaguar is a real find, but grabbing one with the earliest E-serial near to impossible. There are a couple of differences between this and later CIJ/MIJ jags. Firstly and most importantly the neck is much thinner! It feels very comfortable and kinda strange when you are used to the later MIJ/CIJ Jags, but not in a bad way. Secondly it has the ‘Fender’ stamped neckplate that FujiGen only put on the very early Jags and Jazzmasters. Otherwise it’s got all the good stuff: alder body, maple neck & great vintage looking rosewood fingerboard and 7.25 neck radius. Good weight at 3.9kg. It’s had a really nice custom made 3-ply vintage red tortoiseshell pickguard fitted. Everything else is factory spec, no mods, repairs, routing etc. Structurally there are no issues at all. It plays & sounds great, nice action for a Jag too. This thing has some real vintage mojo going on! The Three Tone Sunburst finish has aged beautifully! All the metal hardware has aged and the pickup covers are yellow. It’s a real vintage Jaguar with real vintage wear, and looks the better for it; if you’re looking for a sterile Mexican Jaguar best look at the thousands for sale elsewhere. If not, grab it now as there aren’t many E-serial FujiGen Jags out there and I can’t see this being in the shop very long. Complete with tremolo arm & Fender Japan padded gig-bag (pocket zip broken as usual!)

We carefully hand-select all our guitars and refuse a lot more than we accept, if they don’t blow us away on all fronts, we just don’t put them in our shop; if it’s for sale by Gas Station Guitars, you know it’d gonna be pretty special. All pictures are of the actual guitars, we do not use stock photos. NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks. We ship to the E.U, Europe, U.S, Canada, Australia, NZ and of course the UK.
