Fender Japan Vintage Mid-80's FujiGen Telecaster 1952 Reissue Butterscotch Blond

£1,395.00Price

Up for grabs is this very cool vintage mid 1980’s ash bodied 1952 reissue Fender Telecaster. It’s a very early one, made for Fender at the renowned FujiGen Gakki in Japan and dated 19th December 1985 on the neck heel under the clearcoat (MIJ A-Serial). It has plenty of real world vintage wear so if you like shiny new Mexican Fenders stop reading now. If like me you prefer vintage Japanese Fenders with plenty of mojo then this is an absolute no-brainer. It has a fantastic looking old warrior with a butterscotch ash body, maple neck and 7.25 radius maple fingerboard. The old ash is very resonant and feels great to play, with plenty of Tele twang and some real bite in this one. It has the earliest vintage JV-era red bobbin pickups. These are pretty rare and sought-after on their own nowadays. The fingerboard has lost some clearcoat along the edges but its just cosmetic and will lead to the fretboard nicely discolouring in the future. Fairy average weight for an old FujiGen White ash Tele at 4.2kg, they often go a lot heavier. Neck dead straight, plenty of life in the frets & truss rod fine. It has had TUSQ nut replacement and StewMac saddles added. It is structurally and electrically sound. No issues at all. No breaks, repairs or routing This thing looks amazing, it's well along the road to being a true vintage looker. The finish has taken on a dull sheen over the decades which looks very cool. The largest blemishes are a scar and a large paint chip on the back. Complete with original vintage faux-leather Japanese gigbag which has been decorated! Definitely one of the cooler MIJ ‘52 Tele's we’ve had in recently.
