Fender Japan Vintage E-SERIAL 1984-'87 Fujigen-built Mustang '69 RI MIJ

Here is a real piece of Fender Japan history. You will not find an earlier-built Fender Japan Mustang, this is where it all started for Japanese Mustangs… It’s a super scarce MIJ E-Serial! Only a handful of E-Serial Mustangs exist (there were no JV serials). We have been specialising in rare & HTF Fender Japan offsets of years and this is one of only 5 E-serial Mustangs we have ever had in our possession. It is a very old Fender MIJ 1969 RI Mustang in what looks like a Yellow White (or possibly a very yellowed Oly White). Built for Fender at FujiGen Gakki between 1984-87. Most Fender Japan Mustangs you will see will be later CIJs and second period MIJs from Dyna & Tokai, very few were ever built at FujiGen and even fewer had this sought-after E-serial number.  Being a FujiGen Fender you know the fit and finish is going to be superb. It has all the good stuff inc. maple neck & a really dark and dense Indian rosewood 7.25 radius fingerboard (no washed out Pau Ferro here). There’s a nice 3-ply FujiGen-era tort pickguard. Neck is dead straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life left in the frets. Structurally and electrically sound. No issues at all. No breaks or repairs. A good solid weight at 3.4kg. There is plenty of vintage playwear as you'd expect. A few bumps and scraps and a little pain chipping around the edge. There is a dullness to the finish and oxidation of the metal hardware. It is more yellow than it looks in some of the pics. But if you like well built vintage Fenders with heaps good honest mojo this is for you. It looks better than any sterile modern Mexican Mustang. Complete with tremolo arm and generic Japanese gigbag. We probably won’t find another of these for a very long time. Don’t miss it.

We carefully hand-select all our guitars and refuse a lot more than we accept, if they don’t blow us away on all fronts, we just don’t put them in our shop; if it’s for sale by Gas Station Guitars, you know it’s gonna be pretty special.  All pictures are of the actual guitars, we do not use stock photos. All guitars have been fully checked and are with us in hand, so it’s straight from us to you! NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks. We ship to the E.U, Europe, U.S, Canada, Australia, NZ and of course the UK.
