Fender Japan Very Rare Non-Export Zebrawood Telecaster 1971 Reissue 2004 CIJ

£2,095.00Price

Here is the super rare Fender Japan 1971 Reissue Zebra Telecaster. From a very limited Japanese domestic run back between 2004-06 (CIJ R Serial).  This only one we can see for sale anywhere in the world atm. In superb condition, the best example of one of these we have had. These were never exported from Japan. The main points of uniqueness are the highly figured Zebrawood caps front and back, which sandwich a mahogany body centre, painted black along the edge, leading to almost a bound effect. Not overly heavy though; the weight is 4.4kg.  It has a gloss rosewood fingerboard on a maple neck, which from what we can gather is supposedly a Japanese reissue reference to the prototypes Fender made at the same time as the Rosewood Tele in the early 70's. We don't get many guitars with lacquered rosewood fretboards, but I can say they look amazing and feel great to play which done to this standard. Another thing we love about this are the mods. It has had a very expensive hand-engraved Telecaster parts set from El Dorado (based in California) installed which give it a real C&W look. The pickups were also upgraded to a Seymour Duncan STL-1 Set, with CTS1M Pots, CRL 3 Way, a Puretone jack and Vitamin Q Tone Cap added. The clarity and is stunning and this Tele and it chimes.  It is in super clean condition throughout. No issues whatsoever electrically or structurally. Neck fine, frets fine, truss rod fine. Very clean over all with the only one or two minor imperfections. Plays beautifully with unique looks. It comes with the owners manual (Mainly in Japanese) and also the registration card showing the model and serial number.

We carefully hand-select all our guitars and refuse a lot more than we accept, if they don’t blow us away on all fronts, we just don’t put them in our shop; if it’s for sale by Gas Station Guitars, you know it’d gonna be pretty special.  All pictures are of actual guitar, we do not use stock photos. NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks. We ship to the E.U, Europe, U.S, Canada, Australia, NZ and of course the UK.
