Fender Japan Telecaster Custom 1960's Reissue Midnight Black Tuxedo Bound MIJ
Here's a beautiful 2005 Fender custom '62 Reissue Telecaster in rare Japanese non-export Midnight Black with fully bound alder body. We love this one, you get the slick 007 looks; very neat and tidy, but once you plug it in you get a really dirty and gritty sounding Tele. This is not a normal TL62B. It was a limited run built for the Japanese domestic market and was not sold at retail outside of Japan. It’s a superb looking CIJ R-Serial from 2004-2005. You get all top of the line specs, including an alder body in Midnight Black with full body binding, a beautiful dark Indian 7.25 radius slab rosewood fingerboard, huge sounding factory Texas Special pickups and 3 spiral saddles. It is in clean condition throughout. The binding is nice & tight. These were all poly finished, however the finish feels very thin on this one. It looks great with the white body binding starting to yellow nicely with age and the metal hardware showing a little oxidation, which is beginning to give it a nice vintage feel. Sonically Texas Special pickups sound great. Really resonant too when unplugged and feels great to play. Structurally and electrically sound. Neck dead straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life left in the frets. No issues at all. No breaks or repairs. No modifications, it’s all factory stock. Weight is 3.7kg. Pre-owned but very clean with just very light playwear. No big notable dings. Complete with gig bag. A very cool Fender MIJ ’62 RI Midnight Black Custom Telecaster.
At Gas Station Guitars we carefully hand-select all our guitars and refuse a lot more than we accept, if they don’t blow us away on all fronts, we just don’t put them in our shop; if it’s for sale by Gas Station Guitars, you know it’d gonna be pretty special. All pictures are of actual guitars, all guitars are in hand and we do not use stock photos. NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks.
