Fender Japan Stratocaster 1972 Reissue Rare Natural Ash Finish CIJ R-Serial 2004
I love this one. A very rare Fender Japan natural ash 1972 reissue Stratocaster. It’s an R-Serial CIJ which puts the build date around 2004-’05 at the legendary Tokai plant in Japan. There is no neck pencil scribble on this one to give exact date. It’s is a killer player & has the vintage looks going on. The clearcoat over the beautiful Sen Ash body is slightly darkening to give it more of a darker Blonde look with some nice thick Sen Ash grain visible underneath, all offset by the 3-ply cream guard. Nice and light she and Ash bodies Strat at 3.2kg. Very resonant and feels great to play. I spent over an hour playing this and didn’t want to put it down! Neck dead straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life left in the frets. Structurally and electrically sound. No issues at all. No breaks, repairs or routing. Good condition for the age, just moderate playwear, a few little bumps and scratches in the lacquer on the back. Nothing horrible at all. The metal hardware has taken on a nice lightly oxidised look with adds to the vintage feel. Nothing bad has ever happened to it. Just gentle natural ageing. Definitely one of the coolest 1972 Strats we’ve had in a while. Complete with Original period correct Fender Japan softcase. Don't miss it, once it’s gone it’s gone.
At Gas Station Guitars we carefully hand-select all our guitars, if they don’t blow us away on all fronts, we just don’t put them in our shop; if it’s for sale by Gas Station Guitars, you know it’d gonna be pretty special.
