Fender Japan '68 RI Stratocaster Scarce late 90's Oly White CIJ USA Texas Pups

£1,345.00Price

Here is a scarce Fender Japan model. It is a 1968 reissue Stratocaster in factory finished Olympic White (ST68-TX) which has had some really good mods done by Tone Blue in Japan. These Fender Japan 68's don’t come up often and were produced in much smaller numbers than the ST-57s & 62s etc. This one was built in Japan back in 1999-2002 (CIJ P-serial) it has a resonant alder body, stripeless maple neck, the cool larger resonant ’68 headstock with the CBS era decals, 4 bolt neck plate, stamped steel saddles and 3 x killer sounding USA Texas Special single coil pickups. It has a vintage 7.25" radius fingerboard and a 3-ply white pickguard. The neck has been professionally taken back to a satin feel by Tone Blue, they have also replaced the frets with medium jumbo, fitted a tusq nut, replaced the saddles to Raw Vintage and upgraded the electrics with USA parts. It all gives a bit of a modern spin to this Hendrix classic. Condition wise it is very nice for an early CIJ. The neck is dead straight, truss rod fine and plenty of life left in the frets. Weight is 3.7kg. No structural or electrical issues. Complete with original tremolo arm.  It's around 2 decades old now so don't expect a soulless new guitar. It has a little light wear but nothing big or horrendous. No big paint chips or anything like that. If you’re not interested in Mexican guitars are after something a bit special this is the one for you. A great chance to pick up a rare Fender Japan beauty. Comes with Playtech hardshell case which is complete with locking key.

We carefully hand-select all our guitars and refuse a lot more than we accept, if they don’t blow us away on all fronts, we just don’t put them in our shop; if it’s for sale by Gas Station Guitars, you know it’d gonna be pretty special.  All pictures are of actual guitar, we do not use stock photos. NOT FOR TRADE or part exchange, thanks. We ship to the E.U, Europe, U.S, Canada, Australia, NZ and of course the UK.
