Here is a stunning example of a mid 1970’s Epiphone Casino in beautiful Antique Sunburst finish. It’s in timewarp conditon, one of the cleanest, unmessed-with Matsumoko’s we had in recent times. Built at the Matsumoku factory in Japan we think around 1976. It is great looking guitar plays beautifully. Really nice build quality on these old Matsumokos with special attention to Kalamazoo specs of the 1960s. It’s one of the essential rock & roll hollowbodies. The Japanese Epiphone Casinos are consistently superb in our opinion, we have never had one we didn't love. It’s a good weight for a Matsomoko at 2.9kg with a comfortable 3-piece maple neck, maple back, top and sides and rosewood fingerboard. You can really feel the old growth tonewoods in this one. It really has that vintage resonance. As mentioned above, the condition is very nice. It has the rare mid/late 70’s Japanese Matsomoko blue label viewable from the f-hole. As mentioned above, the condition, with nice tight binding with no cracks and a lovely looking dark rosewood fingerboard. The electronics are all untouched, with the original nickel pickup covers on the Maxon P-90s and the gold reflector cap knobs on the Volume and Tone controls. Still has a lovely shine on the pickup covers, bridge, and trapeze tailpiece. No big dings anywhere, no bucklerash etc. It really is a great looking and playing example of this rare guitar. There have obviously been no breaks or repairs. Neck is dead straight truss rod checked and functioning fine, plenty of life left in the frets. It’s also a very smooth player and those original dog ear P90s sound immense. Complete with cool old beat up 70’s vintage Epiphone HSC, a very worn looking but in perfect working order with all latches working etc.
